Eulogies (pg-9): Noun, A laudatory speech or written tribute, especially one praising someone who has died.
Ostentatiously (pg-35): adj. Characterized by or given to boastful showiness; pretentious.

"With Obadiah gone, Frank was the oldest child and, needing to put food on the table, he became a prodigy of crime," (pg-32) The significance of this quote is how the main character started into his life of crime, he eventually leads himself to cross paths with a gangster who takes him under his wing.
